Sophia Youell
born Kent? 1792?
died Hoo St Werbegh, Kent, June 1838

on the Knott family tree
part of the
Harrall family story

married to Daniel Harrall

mother of John Harrall

daughter of ?
and ?

Sophie Youell
(1792?-1838). My Father's Father's Mother's Mother's Father's Mother. My Great-Great-Great-Great-Grandmother.

1792: Sophia was born around this year, probably in Kent.

1811: Sophia married Daniel Harrall on 29th July at St Mary, Chalk, Kent. Daniel's surname was given as Hurril. Both were shown as being of this parish meaning they were resident at the time. Neither was able to sign the register. The witnesses were Ann Carter and Stephen Redsell. Redsell was witness to a number of other marriages in the register, and so was probably the parish clerk. It is not clear why the marriage took place here - Sophia's baptism does not appear in the registers, nor do there appear to be other entries for the Youell and Harrall families..

1812: Daniel and Sophia's son Edward was born on 30th October at Frindsbury, Kent, and baptised at Zoar Chapel, Strood on 13th December.

1813: Daniel and Sophia's second son John, my great-great-great-grandfather, was born on 18th January at Hoo St Werbegh, Kent, and baptised at Zoar Chapel, Strood on 5th March. Daniel and Sophia's surname was spelt Harrall, corrected from Harald by Thomas Drew, protestant dissenting minister. Nine more children would be born, all of them at Hoo and mostly baptised at Zoar chapel in Strood.

Hoo St Werburgh
1837: Sophia died and was buried on 8th June at St Werbegh, Hoo. She was 46 years old.

1838: Daniel remarried to Mary Grigsby at St Werbegh, Hoo. They would have just one child together.
