1809:
James Reynolds born at Great Sampford, Essex and baptised in St Michael's church on 16th April. He was the eldest son of Edmund and Elizabeth Reynolds née Richard, who had been married in the same church just two months previously.

1832:
James married Abigail Darnel on the 30th October at St Mary's church, Radwinter, Essex. James was 22 years old.


 
1841 census:

James was thirty-two years old at the time of the 1841 census. He was working as an agricultural labourer. The census gives the address as Cottage, Great Sampford, Essex.

His wife Abigail was 27 years old.

James had three children at home at the time of the 1841 census. Mary Anne was 5, Eliza was 2, Robert was 3 months.
