Eliza Wilson (1819-1894). My Father's Mother's Father's Father's Mother. My Great-Great-Great-Grandmother.

Eliza grew up in Stapleford, a small parish which is part of Great Shelford, today a southern suburb of the city of Cambridge. She married a local boy and spent the whole of her life in the same village.

1819: Eliza was born in Stapleford, Cambridgeshire and baptised in Stapleford church.

Eliza married Robert Page at St Andrew's church, Stapleford, Cambridgeshire.

 


1841 census:

Eliza was twenty-two years old at the time of the 1841 census. The Page family were living in Little Shelford, Cambridgeshire.

Her husband Robert was also twenty-two years old, and is shown as a lime burner.

Eliza had two children at the time of the 1841 census. Elizabeth was 1, Robert was 2 months old.

1851 census:

Eliza was thirty-two years old at the time of the 1851 census. The Page family were living in High Street, Great Shelford, Cambridgeshire.

Her husband Robert was 32. He was a lime burner. There were five children at the time of the 1851 census. Robert was 9, Sarah was 7, Caroline was 5, John was 4 and Emily was 2. Elizabeth, 1 year old on the 1841 census, no longer appears.

Eliza was born in Stapleford, Cambridgeshire. Robert was born in Harston, Cambridgeshire. All the children were born in Shelford, Cambridgeshire (all these villages are very close together). The transcript for their entry is here.

 
 


1861 census:

Eliza was forty-two years old at the time of the 1861 census. The Page family were living in The Street, Great Shelford, Cambridgeshire.

Her husband Robert was also 42. He was a lime burner. There were seven children at the time of the 1861 census. Robert was 20, Sarah was 18, John was 14, Emily was 12, Henry was 10, William was 6 and Elizabeth was 4. Caroline, aged 5 on the 1851 census, does not appear at home on the 1861 census.

Eliza was born in Stapleford, Cambridgeshire. Robert was born in Harston, Cambridgeshire. The younger Robert was born in Little Shelford, Cambridgeshire, and all the other children were born in Great Shelford, Cambridgeshire. The transcript for their entry is here.

 
   
   
 


1871 census:

Eliza was fifty-one years old at the time of the 1871 census. The Page family were living in High Street, Great Shelford, Cambridgeshire.

Her husban Robert was also 51. He was a carter. There were three children at the time of the 1871 census. Emily was 22, and is listed as a servant. William was 16, and is listed as working in a factory. Eliza was 14, and is listed as a servant. Also in the household is another Emily Page, listed as the 4 year old grand-daughter of Robert.

Eliza was born in Stapleford, Cambridgeshire. Robert was born in Harston, Cambridgeshire. All the children were born in Great Shelford, Cambridgeshire The Grand-daughter was born in London. The transcript for their entry is here.

 
   
   
 


1881 census:

Eliza was sixty-one years old at the time of the 1881 census. The Page family were living at Centre of the Village, Great Shelford, Cambridgeshire.

Her husband Robert was also 61. He was a lime burner. There were no children at home on the night of the 1881 census.

1891:
Eliza's husband Robert died in Great Shelford a few days before the 1891 census, probably in the first week of April. The census was taken on April 5th, and Eliza was described as a widow. Robert was buried in the churchyard of St Mary, Great Shelford, on April 9th.

1891 census:

Eliza was seventy one years old. She was living in High Street, Great Shelford, Cambridgeshire. Nobody else was listed in the household. The transcript for her entry is here.


1894: Eliza died in Great Shelford. She was buried in Great Shelford churchyard on 2nd August.
