St Nicholas, Witham

Locked, no keyholder, but it was nearly five o'clock and town churches do often close earlier than their rural counterparts, so I gave it the benefit of the doubt. A big church set in a small cleared graveyard in the old village centre, away from the modern town centre but close to the railway station. Not much of any excitement externally, so I took one last look and headed down to the railway station for the train to Ipswich. Simon Knott, April 2014
