St Mary, Manuden

A big, substantially restored church in the middle of the village - a long road of half-timbered houses curves 270 degrees around the churchyard, some of them backing onto the churchyard, most attractive. The interior is plain and simple, cool and calm, well-kept. There wasn't a great deal of interest, although the surviving part of the rood screen is good. Simon Knott, February 2014
