St Mary, Blackmore End

The former church of the remote hamlet of Blackmore End, redundant for many a long year, and now used as the Diocesan furniture store. I wonder if the name comes from a Blackamoor's Head public house, of which there are/were several in these parts. Possibly heraldic in origin. Simon Knott, September 2012
