St Lawrence, Asheldham

Asheldham

Up a country lane at the far end of the Dengie Peninsula, just before the marshes begin, but actually not that far from the busy little towns of Southminster and Burnham-on-Crouch, this little 14th Century church was derelict and vandalised by the early 1970s. It was converted into a youth residential centre for the Chelmsford Diocese, a use it retains today.
